Ross Schumann > About Ross

Texas Deserves Better.

Through Ross’ life experiences and personal interaction in the cattle, hunting and wildlife preservation, Texas Army National Guard, and the Oil & Gas industries—Ross developed his passion to conserve the true meaning of the constitution. To hold everyone as equals, allow freedom to be expressed, and the protection of the well being of the people.

Born in a small town in central Texas, Dime Box and raised on his family’s 800 acre ranch—Ross was taught patience, innovation, persistence, and hard work. Patience was taught during his dog training and national competitions, which later caught the eye of renounced Setter trainer, Sherry Ray Ebert. Innovation was learned with his father in the transition of turning his family’s cattle ranch into hunting and preservation of wild birds, after his grandfather’s death. Persistence was developed in the constant pursuit of education and his continuous chase of personal relationships. Hard work, that has been a constant application in his life from his childhood, adolescence, and adulthood—anything worth having doesn’t come easy.

Ross attended Giddings High School, a 15 minute drive from Dime Box. In Highschool, Ross participated in plenty of extracurricular activities such as football, baseball, skeet shooting, 4-H, and aided in others.

Even though Ross’ grandfather passed when he was only 10 years old, a few wise words have stuck with him: “ it may be hard to walk uphill but you can’t coast down until you’ve made the climb.” Ross turns to his grandfather’s quote time and time again serving as a reminder that hard work and continuous strive will take you to the top of the hill where thereafter you will be able to enjoy the hard work.

Ross is a firm believer of Constitutional Conservatism, that is a proper balance between principle and prudence. Every U.S. citizen should have the freedom to live their lives as they seem fit regardless of group association and identification, i.e. abilities, age, race, religion, political beliefs. sexual orientation, etc. Everyone should be able to pursue their state of happiness through freedom and success so as long as others are not being impacted negatively. Ross also believes in economic growth and supporting both businesses and individuals who make an honest living through a variety of ways such as directly adjusting taxes and advocate for community and education improvements. In addition, our country is a nation of immigrants and Ross is for legal immigration. He believes in strong border security, as we are a border state, and reforming the immigration system so that it becomes safer and more efficient security for both our residents and citizens. In addition to safety for our border patrol officers, and help alleviate the cost and time it takes to apply to migrate and enter the US legally.

Ross, his wife, and 5 children have been fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity of obtaining the American dream and have grasped it with their persevered work and ever-continuing passion for progression. Ross will push for others to have the same opportunity as he did to allow his family to live a beautiful life filled with joy and overcoming.
